I think you mean he tried Steve Jobs all fruit diet, not Bill Gates.

haha thanks, I fixed it. Freudian slip…

  2. Katalin

Sounds interesting, can’t wait to check it out!

  3. kem

Lustig mentions DDE (a metabolite of DDT, banned from the US for over 40 years) as present in the urine of pregnant women born after 1972. The implications are “almost assuredly” creating extra fat cells before the baby is born.

Makes one wonder if (since the metabolic state of the female in pregnancy influences the future tendency to obesity of her offspring) the world is seeing an obeseginic cascade through generations. That might help explain the pandemic nature of the crisis.

I dunno. But thanks for the advice to not look up whilst deadlifting. I see that as a really good safety measure. Works a treat. Ta.

    1. cavemandoctor (Post author)

haha thanks Kem! I agree, not sure what to make of these chemicals since they are ubiquitous at this point. Definitely scary…

    Dr. Champ and Rodger,

I’ve been devouring your podcasts at an enormous rate. Thanks for all your hard work!

Quick question, would you guys have any recommendations on free Scientific journals to get to the same sources you guys use?

    1. cavemandoctor (Post author)

      Hi Josh,

Thanks and glad you like the show!
NEJM and JAMA have free articles when they are new. Nutrition and metabolism are all free. From there is it random but you can search through google scholar or pubmed and often the journal have a free Pdf.

      Take care,

    hey colin,
i dont like yoga either. I injured my back many years ago by stretching too hard. BTW how are you going to move your new bed to Pittsburgh? just curious

    1. cavemandoctor (Post author)

      Hi Jamie,
Since it’s rubber and can just roll it up and tie it so hopefully should be somewhat easy…

First off.. glad your old theme song is back… a little too much Rihanna in the previous podcast.

I was wondering which brand of compression clothing did you go with? I’ve been thinking about jumping into it as well and the few brands on my shortlist are 2xu, Skins, and 110%.

Steve Jobs had a nearly life-long fascination with Arnold Ehret’s “mucous-less diet healing system” which was a heavily fruit oriented diet that Ehret felt would eventually lead to being able to survive on air and water. Definitely a low carb, low fat and low calorie approach!

The pomodoro technique is an amazingly effective way of managing time that allows total concentration on one task at a time using a timer and lists. You can check it out at http://www.pomodorotechnique.com. Of course, for it to work you have to use it, not just read about it.
